The Water Department will begin its Fall Hydrant Flushing Program tomorrow throughout the City and Township.
💡 Tips to help during flushing:
-If your water looks discolored, run the cold tap for a few minutes until it clears.
-Try to avoid using hot water until the discoloration goes away, so sediment doesn’t enter your water heater.
-If possible, plan household tasks like laundry, dishwashing, or bathing around the posted flushing schedule.
✅ Flushing helps maintain water quality, removes sediment, and ensures hydrants are ready for fire protection.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation!!

Born and raised in Bordentown, Jason’s commitment to service began right after high school when he enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 1999. He went on to serve in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (2004–2005), and later deployed to Iraq (2008–2009), before concluding his military service in February 2011.
In 2007, Jason graduated from the Burlington County Police Academy (Class 93) and went on to serve as a patrolman for 14 years. In 2021, he was promoted to Sergeant, a role in which he continued to demonstrate strong leadership and dedication.
Since 2011, Jason has served as the department’s Firearms Instructor, shaping the skills of countless officers. He also served as an Active Shooter Instructor and took part in extensive advanced training, including Tactical Rifle School (2019), SWAT School (2021), and the FBI Sniper School (2022). In addition, he took on the important role of the City’s Animal Cruelty Officer.
Jason has been married to his wife, Kelli, for 17 years, and together they are raising their 13-year-old daughter, Kaydence. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors and is an avid hunter.
Though he will be greatly missed here in Bordentown, Jason is not finished serving. He and his family plan to relocate to Georgia, where he will continue his calling at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) as a Firearms and Active Shooter Instructor.
Please join us in thanking Sergeant Archer for his many years of service to both our country and our city. We wish him and his family all the best in this next exciting chapter.

Crews are starting work this week on the 500 block of Prince Street, and next week they’ll move to the 500 block of Willow Street, as part of New Jersey’s statewide Water Service Line Replacement Program. This program focuses on replacing water service lines made of lead or older galvanized materials to ensure residents have safe, reliable water.
While our system does not have any lead service lines, some older galvanized pipes are being replaced as part of this important project.
Residents in the work areas may notice construction activity, equipment, and temporary traffic changes while crews complete the work. We appreciate your patience as these upgrades are made to maintain a high-quality water system for everyone.
