With the warmer weather this weekend, Monday’s snow removal route for East & West Church Street and Oliver Street has been cancelled.
Our Public Works team was ahead of schedule on Friday and successfully completed the remaining snow removal routes, ensuring our streets were cleared quickly and efficiently. They worked tirelessly throughout the recent snowstorms, putting in long hours to keep our roads safe for residents. Their dedication and commitment to our community do not go unnoticed — we truly appreciate all they have done!

Trash collection has been cancelled for Tuesday, February 24th to ensure plows can continue snow removal operations safely and efficiently.

Recycling will still be collected on Tuesday, February 24th.
Please do not place recycling bins in the street before 6:00 AM Tuesday morning so plows can continue clearing roadways.

SNOW RELATED ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The City is currently making all the necessary preparations to ensure roads and sidewalks are passable in light of the pending blizzard and the Governor's declared state of emergency. Please be aware of the following over the next few days and work together to help us make sure the city keeps moving:
- Bordentown City Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has also declared a local state of emergency and urges residents to limit non-essential travel, monitor official City communications, and comply with all lawful directives issued pursuant to this emergency in order to protect public safety and facilitate emergency operations.
- NO parking restrictions have been posted along both sides of Farnsworth Ave, from Park St to Burlington St, and will remain in effect while the road is snow covered until Public Works is able to sufficiently clear the street. Additional parking restrictions along other streets may be announced in the coming days so please check back for updates.
- There will be no trash collection on both Monday AND Tuesday to free up resources to focus on snow removal.
- There will be NO recycling collection on Monday. The county has rescheduled recycling collection for Tuesday, Feb. 24. Please do NOT put receptacles at the curb before 6 am on Tuesday to allow for plows to continue working. Please help spread the word by SHARING with friends and neighbors.
- City offices will be closed on Monday.
- Reminder: Public-facing sidewalks are required to be cleared of snow and ice within 24 hours of snowfall ending. City ordinance prohibits snow and ice from being deposited in city streets. If you are a tenant, and unsure if the snow is your responsibility, please consult your landlord or your lease. The city reserves the right to clear any sidewalks that have not been cleared within the requisite amount of time and pose a public safety hazard and may charge the property owner for related costs.

🚗 No Parking – Farnsworth Avenue
No parking on Farnsworth Avenue between Park Street and Burlington Street while roads are snow covered. Keeping this busy stretch clear helps plows and emergency vehicles move through safely.
🗑️ Trash Collection Cancelled
Trash pickup is cancelled Monday, February 23rd and Tuesday, February 24th so Public Works crews can focus on snow removal during and immediately after the storm.
🏛️ City Hall Closed
City Hall will be closed Monday, February 23rd.

The City of Bordentown has updated its public event application process.
We love seeing our community come together for events — whether it’s festivals, fundraisers, educational programs, or neighborhood gatherings. These events bring energy to our City and create meaningful experiences for our residents!
If you are planning to hold a public event within the City, a completed event application must now be submitted at least 30 days prior to the scheduled event date. Applications are required to be reviewed and approved at a monthly Commission meeting.

Bordentown City is seeking ideas and proposals for the use of the Municipal Complex Gymnasium at 101 E Park Street.
We have issued a Request for Information inviting organizations, businesses, nonprofits, and community partners to share how they might use this important space for recreation, arts, education, culture, or other public benefit.
Based on community feedback, the submission date has been adjusted to allow more time for interested groups to respond.
Responses do not need to be lengthy or formal, and applicants of all types and sizes are encouraged to participate.
