The City of Bordentown is proud to help support the Bordentown Hometown Hero Foundation’s Challenge Run on September 15th at Joseph Lawrence Park! 🏃‍♀️ Many of you know the foundation’s organizers through Bordentown Spartan Bootcamp. Now they have chosen to remember 9/11 by raising money for critical training and equipment for our local firefighters in Bordentown. Whether it’s being a sponsor or a race participant, you can help support their goal of raising $5,000 for this worthy cause! Sponsors will have their business logo printed on the back of the run shirts, as well as the website, and will also be given a shout out on Facebook and Instagram, and are welcome to set up a table at the event too. You can also support the cause by getting a team together to run in the race or running on your own. Every bit helps! Check out the QR code for more details and sign up today

REMINDER: Tonight — Mon, July 15 — is the monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners, which was rescheduled due to the holiday weekend. The meeting will take place at 7 pm at Carslake Community Center and is also available via Zoom at the link below. On tap this month are several new policy proposals that the City is eager to gather public feedback on. Chief among them are: 🗳️ A non-binding referendum that would place a question on the ballot this November asking voters to decide if they would like to move the City’s May municipal election to November, when turnout is historically much higher, while remaining nonpartisan. 🌳 A binding referendum that would place an additional question on the ballot this November asking voters if they would support the creation of an Open Space Tax ranging from .01 - .04 cents annually (per every $100 of assessed home value), which would be dedicated specifically to funding citywide recreation improvements, park maintenance and upgrades, and historic preservation projects, as prescribed by state law. The full agenda and Zoom info can be found at: https://ecode360.com/BO1079/document/753068694.pdf
