UPDATE: Last night, the water department was successfully able to secure and install a new motor at our water plant. It will take some time for the system to get back to operating at capacity, which we anticipate will be later today. While this refilling of our tanks progresses today, some residents may experience cloudy water. This is typical and we recommend you let your water run for 30 to 45 seconds.
At least for today, we recommend residents still conserve water. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience and support.
ALERT: Earlier this morning, there was a pipe burst at the City’s water plant. There was some damage to the pumps that push water out of the plant and into the distribution system throughout the city. In the interim, the water in the system’s two water tanks (Carslake and Crosswicks) have provided clean and safe water during this time.
An emergency contractor was notified and has been on site fixing the pumps. As these repairs are being made, we ask everyone to be patient and please try to conserve your water usage today. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please join us Saturday, May 25, for the Annual Memorial Day service hosted by the American Legion. The event will kick off at 11 am at the Veterans Monument at Farnsworth and Veterans Way.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day. Please also note there will be NO trash collection.

Starting Monday, June 10th, construction for the new renovations at Oliver Street Park will begin!

The Department of Public Works is out hanging the new spring flower baskets along Farnsworth Avenue. Big shout out to City Hall Staff, Gina & Rachel, for planting all 52 baskets!
Enjoy the new flower selection that were handpicked by the team and watch as they fully bloom throughout the season! 🌸 🌺

ADVISORY: The public hearing on the proposed 2024 city and water budget will take place on Monday, May 13, at 7 pm at Carslake Community Center (and via Zoom at the link below).
If you have not had a chance to explore the budget, now is your chance. Both the detailed version and the condensed user-friendly version are available online here:
https://cityofbordentown.com/financial-officer/
Due to a number of mandatory costs beyond the city’s control — such as state pension and health benefit costs and insurance costs — the proposed budget contains a $.05 cent increase on every $100 of assessed property value. For the average homeowner, this equates to an increase of roughly $114 for the coming year.
This increase will enable us to continue providing the essential services everyone depends upon, such as twice a week trash removal, leaf and snow removal, street cleaning, park maintenance, the clock police patrols, and many other essential services.
The Board of Commissioners meeting, and public hearing on the budget, can be viewed via Zoom next Monday at:
