The City of Bordentown Water Department will be conducting hydrant flushing on:
October 13–15
October 20–22
We know hydrant flushing can sometimes be an inconvenience. You may notice cloudy, yellow, or slightly discolored water, as well as temporarily reduced water pressure while flushing is taking place in your neighborhood.
While it may not always seem necessary, hydrant flushing is an important part of maintaining our water system. Regular flushing helps clear sediment and mineral deposits from water mains, maintain water quality, test hydrants, and ensure adequate water flow and pressure throughout the system.
What should you do if you experience cloudy or discolored water?
• Run your cold water for several minutes until it runs clear.
• Avoid doing laundry until your water has cleared.
• Temporary low water pressure is normal while hydrants are being flushed in your area and should return to normal once flushing is complete.
• If your water does not clear after running the cold water, please contact the Water Department at 609-298-0604 opt. 1.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while this important maintenance is being completed!
