At the traffic light Crosswicks St. and Rts. 130/206, police noticed a
driver on a cell
phone. After the light turned green the suspect vehicle turned
northbound on the
highway and was stopped for using the cell phone while driving. The
driver, 34 year old
Samantha Paolini of Harleysville, PA, was subsequently charged with DWI
as well as
improper use of a cellular telephone, careless driving, failure to
exhibit documents
(registration card), uninsured motor vehicle and hindering city officer
from performing
duty (under City Ordinance). Ms. Paolini was released to a friend with a
court date in
May.

While approaching the traffic light at Rts. 130/206 southbound as the
traffic signal was
changing to green, police were passed by a vehicle traveling northbound
in the
southbound lane. Police immediately turned around and stopped the
vehicle in front of
the Office Supply Store and had the driver pull into the store parking
lot. Upon
approaching the driver police inquired as to how he ended up going
northbound in the
southbound lane, he stated that he did not know. Upon speaking with the
driver an odor
of alcohol was detected and subsequently led to the arrest of the driver
for DWI. The
driver, 51 year old Kenneth Arsenault of Browns Mills, NJ, was also
charged with wrong
way on one way highway and reckless driving. Mr. Arsenault was released
to a friend
and given a court date in May.
