PRESS RELEASE FOR WEEK ENDING OCT. 26, 2009

While on routine patrol doing a business check, police found the side
door of Empire
Pizza on Rt. 130 showed signs of forced entry. Entering the business
police found no one
on location. Upon arrival of the business owner it was discovered
that approximately
$150.00 to $180.00 dollars was missing from the cash register.
Detective Shaun Lafferty
processed the scene for evidence before the owner secured his
business.

The manager of Park St. Condos called police to report a vehicle on
private property that
did not belong there. Police upon arrival looked up information on
the owner and found
that this vehicle had been reported stolen out of Trenton. Trenton
Police were contacted
and requested the vehicle be impounded at a local towing compound for
them.

While conducting a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of the Town
and Country Diner, Rt. 130, Sgt. Matt Simmons detected an odor of
burnt marijuana eminating from inside the vehicle. The
patrol/narcotic
K-9, Terri, at this time conducted an exterior sniff with Terri
positively
indicating numerous time for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle
of
the accused. The driver of the vehicle was asked to step outside his
car
and a check of the accused revealed a glassine baggie of powder
cocaine
on his person and loose marijuana was found on the floor of the car.
Arrested and charged with possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia
was 27 year old Joshua D. Gonzalez of South Amboy, NJ. Mr.
Gonzalez was given a court date later this month and released.
