Kevin E. White, 30, of Fieldsboro, was taken into custody by the Bordentown City Police Department and Burlington County Prosecutor's Office on attempted murder charges.  The charges stem from an investigation of a shooting that occurred on Borden Street on or about 1:15 am on June 29, 2008 when David Pickett, 40, was shot in the abdomen in front of 327 Borden Street.  Investigation revealed that after an altercation over CDS, White drew a 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and fired (5) five rounds at Pickett, striking him once in the abdomen.  White then fled the scene.  White was lodged in Burlington County Jail in lieu of $250,000.00 bail.  White was formally charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm by certain prohibited persons, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.  The shooting is confirmed to be an isolated incident spurring from a dispute and was not gang related.

While on bicycle patrol on Farnsworth Avenue Special Officer Jake Archer was passed by a vehicle.  The windows of the vehicle were down and some of the occupants were yelling.  Officer Archer noted the pungent odor of burning marijuana as the vehicle passed.  Officer Archer followed the vehicle and noted that it failed to keep right on Farnsworth Avenue.  Officer Archer observed as the vehicle failed to stop at the intersection of Farnsworth Avenue and Park Street.  Officer Archer observed the vehicle swerving on Park Street before calling for other units.  The vehicle was stopped on Route 206 North.  The driver, Brian Mate, 18, of Hamilton, was arrested for DWI, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Mr. Mate was issued a total of (5) five motor vehicle summonses.  Passenger Michael Arroyo, 18, of Hamilton, was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
